PRESERVING THE QUALITIES OF THIS MAJESTIC NORTHERN BREED
Welcome to our website. We have been lovingly involved in purposeful breeding and showcasing the Alaskan Malamute since 1996. We are members of the Canadian Kennel Club, Alaskan Malamute Club of Canada, the Alaskan Malamute Club of America and register our puppies with the Canadian Kennel Club. It is our aim to preserve the majestic qualities of this magnificent northern breed. As preservation breeders we look towards each generation being happier and healthier than the one before. It is a responsibility we take very seriously as our Malamutes are involved in almost every part of our life. We obtained our first Malamutes in 1996 and immediately began showing them in conformation dog shows and working toward sledding and backpacking titles. Since then, our Malamutes have gone on to excel in the show ring, on the trail and some have even gone on to do assistance and therapy work. The Spiritrun breeding program has been awarded Breeders of the Year by Pedigree 2000. Learn more about us HERE.
Our Alaskan Malamutes are our family first and foremost. We give credit to the beautiful bloodlines we have been blessed to work in partnership with over the years. We breed for quality over quantity and have maintained a small, intimate breeding program over the past 20-plus years. Our aim is simple-- to produce healthy, happy dogs who are versatile athletes and eager workers, dripping in breed type and soundness, who are capable of being the most loving companion or the most accomplished competitor, or both! We breed only when we are prepared to keep something back for our breeding program and we are very selective of who we place our puppies with.
When we place our Alaskan Malamutes in a new home, our goal is for that home to be their forever home, so we take home/family selection very seriously. Selecting a dog to spend the next, hopefully, 12-15 years with is something to be taken extremely seriously. When families are considering what pets to add to their home, considerations to take into account are breed characteristics, lifestyle, family and work commitments, financial considerations and any life changes you foresee in the near or not-so-near future. If you think an Alaskan Malamute is the right breed for you, we want to hear why! We encourage you to read So You Think You Want A Malamute? As responsible breeders, we are always prepared to take our dogs and puppies back, however, our intention on the outset is to find the best, loving, most responsible homes for our precious ones to live out their lives in.
